| 1948 | New York, The Crime Club.  The Crime Club edition is not a book club reprint. It is marked "First Edition" on the copyright page and the title page states that it was "Published for the Crime Club 1948 by Doubleday & Co., Inc, Garden City, N.Y." Doubleday reprinted the book as a title in their Adventure Book Club which used the same jacket design but with the Crime Club figure removed and :Book Club Edition" on the inside front flap.  |
