Nick Carter Magazine: (about)
Although Nick Carter, as a character, had been appearing in various formats (and magazines) since 1886, the material was beginning to feel dated by the time Nick Carter Magazine was launched in 1933. As such, while the name of the character (and some of his companions) were retained, the stories were deliberately targetted at a new generation. Each issue featured a lead Nick Carter novella, as well as a couple of short stories.

Pep Tec: (about)
The issues seen are partial reprints of US saucy pulps such as Vice Squad Detective and Spicy Detective Stories, so it is quite likely that this is actually a UK magazine (as the only known issues are in the UK) and that the listed publisher and price are a smokescreen.

The Phantom Detective (about)
The Phantom Detective was Standard Magazines response to the launch of The Shadow Magazine by Street & Smith. Although it ran for far fewer issues (170 instead of 325) its less frequent schedule meant it held the record for the longest-running single-character pulp, lasting for over 20 years. (Pub. Info.)
