    This issue features three covers. The first (the actual cover of the magazine) reprints the cover from the first issue of the magazine. The second, on the next page, comes in four varieties which vary from copy to copy of the magazine. The third, by Kerry James Marshall, on the following page, appears in all copies.

    Although often dated as published in 1934, an advertisement in the January 1932 issue of Variety Magazine states that the second issue was being published on January 15, 1932.

    Nick Carter Magazine:   (about)
    Although Nick Carter, as a character, had been appearing in various formats (and magazines) since 1886, the material was beginning to feel dated by the time Nick Carter Magazine was launched in 1933. As such, while the name of the character (and some of his companions) were retained, the stories were deliberately targetted at a “new generation”. Each issue featured a lead Nick Carter novella, as well as a couple of short stories.
