- HODGSON, WILLIAM HOPE (1877-1918); Photographer, physical culturist, poet and writer. Hodgson today is remembered for only his fantastic fiction, although much of his fiction is of some interest; he was haunted by the memories of his years at sea. Born in Blackmore End, Essex, England; killed at Ypres, France, during World War I. (chron.)
