- MOORE, [Captain] FREDERICK FERDINAND (1877-?); Editor, author, sailor, civilian scout, war correspondent. One of the intelligence officers dispatched by the United States to Siberia in the summer of 1918. Briefly married to Eleanor Gates (q.v.).
Research on this man is difficult, hampered by the presence of author Frederick Moore (1877-1956?). Even the Library of Congress has treated the two men as being the same.
Frederick Ferdinand Moore was born in Concord, New Hampshire; apparently still alive in 1954. (chron.)
