- PENDEXTER, HUGH (1875-1940); see pseudonyms H. P. & Faunce Rochester; Journalist, and one of Adventures most popular writers. His historical novels and short stories generally involved little-known facets of the history of the United States, and frequently they were accompanied by letters in The Camp-Fire providing lists of the works that Pendexter had consulted while doing his writing. Born in Pittsfield, Maine; lived in Norway, Maine; died in Johnstown, Pennsylvania. (chron.)
