DYALHIS, NICTZIN (Wilstone) (c1873-1942); English-born world traveller and adventurer, remembered only for his “weird” stories. He may have been born a few years later, and his original name may not have been Dyalhis. Died in Salisbury, Maryland (?).
Sam Moskowitz claimed that Dyalhis was born in Pima, Arizona, in 1880, but these data cannot be verified, and are semi-contradicted by a statement made by Dyalhis, who in 1922 claimed to be nearly fifty. Dyalhis’s science fiction involves altered names (Earth becomes Aerth; Venus, Venhez), and it has been conjectured that he was born “Dallas” and similarly altered his name. (chron.)
