Thomas (1867-1868), John Lovell (1868-1869), H. R. Haweis (1869-1870), George Manville Fenn (1870-1874), Bonavia Hunt (1874-1896), Max Pemberton (1896-1905), David Williamson (1905-1906), Walter Smith (1906-Mar. 1912); became Strand-like in the 1890s, under Pemberton’s editorship, then turned into a pulp circa 1912 (retitled Cassell’s Magazine of Fiction); authors included E. W. Hornung (“Raffles” stories, late 1890s), Rudyard Kipling (“Kim,” Jan.-Nov. 1901), Rider Haggard (“The Brethren,” Dec. 1903-Nov. 1904); indexed, fiction only for Dec. 1874-Oct. 1910 in Cassell’s Family Magazine: Indexes to Fiction by Sue Thomas (Univ of Queensland, 1987), Victorian Fiction Research Guide #12.
