• Corrections:
  • "The Heart of a Tinpanner" by W. Carey Wonderly actually ran for 9 parts rather than 7, with the final part in Midnight Mystery Stories [v1 #17, December 9, 1922.

  • "Murder Takes a Ride" by Brett Halliday in Mike Shayne Mystery Magazine (Australia) [v2 #1, July 1957] and Mike Shayne Mystery Magazine (UK) [v1 #7, November 1957] is slightly rewritten from the original, mainly to change the protagonist from Steve Random to Mike Shayne.

  • In the Pub. Info. for Crime Time it should read that Barry Forshaw was editor until 2008 not until 1908!

  • The notes on the William Irish story "The Hunted" should read: revised from "Death in the Yoshiwara" by Cornell Woolrich (Argosy, January 29, 1938).

  • "The Game of Dreams" in AHMM 12/2010 is by J.F. Peirce not J.F. Pierce.

  • AHMM Oct 1969, the Carroll B. Mayers story is titled "Thief in the Night", not "Theft in the Night".

  • The Michael Stanley in the CFI is a pseudonym for Michael Sears and Stan Trollip, not a pseudonym for Stanley William Hosie.

  • "Gun Scared" in the August 2, 1928 of Detective Story Magazine is by Charles J. Dutton not Charles J. Patton.

• Notes:
  • Carl Rathjen: During the period covered by the index, a number of stories were published under the byline "Carl Rathjen" (mainly in the 1930s and 1940s), while others were published under the byline "Carl Henry Rathjen" (mainly in the 1960s and 1970s), and it was assumed that these were the same person. However, further research has revealed the existence of a "Carl Hutchinson Rathjen", who published stories in the pulps in the 1930s. It is therefore likely that some, if not all, of the stories published in the 1930s and 1940s which are attributed in the index to "Carl Henry Rathjen" are actually by "Carl Hutchinson Rathjen". As always we would welcome any further information on this subject.

Index to Crime and Mystery Anthologies: 1875-2010 brings up to date the 1991 hardcover edition published by G.K. Hall & Co. This new edition indexes some 2,500 anthologies, and includes an additional 260+ single-author collections published 2001 through 2010.
