Edited by Robert Weinberg. A hardcover edition (-216-8, $20.95) was announced but not seen.


Spawn of the Vampire ed. Anon. (London: Bear, Hudson 538, 1946, 1/6d, 80pp, pb); Although listed as a weird fiction anthology this booklet contains only the title story, by N. Wesley Firth, plus a crime story.


Ride the East Wind: Parables of Yesterday and Today ed. Edmund C. Berkeley (New York: Quadrangle 0-8129-0375-7, 1973, $6.95, 214pp, hc); A collection of over fifty parables, anecdotes, allegories and fables plus scores of quotations, proverbs and remarks. Only the full stories are listed.


The Creepy-Crawly Book ed. Lucy Berman (London: Tandem 0-426-10241-X, 1973, 166pp, pb); Mixture of fact and fiction aimed at the younger reader. Most of the contents are non-fiction or poems. Only fiction of note as “The Valley of Spiders” H. G. Wells, “Rikki-Tikki-Tavi” Rudyard Kipling, and “The Squid” by Jules Verne.


Classic Scottish Short Stories ed. Angus Black (London: New English Library 01243, 1973, 30p, 159pp, pb); 11 Scottish stories most with a flavour of the supernatural.


Savoy Dreams ed. David Britton & Michael Butterworth (Savoy 0-86130-068-8, Jul ’84, £13.95, 260pp, hc); The second Savoy miscellany, this one includes accounts of the owners’ bust for carrying “porn” (by sf authors) in their bookstores, plus excerpts from Savoy books, fiction, and reviews. Contributors include Michael Moorcock and M. John Harrison. (Also available in tp (-069-6, £7.95).


The Scary Book ed. Joanna Cole & Stephanie Calmenson (New York: Morrow Junior Books 0-688-10654-4, 1991, $12.95, 127pp, hc); Collection of ghostly tales, poems, riddles and tricks intended for children. Heavily illustrated. Contents are predominantly poems and illustrated text, including a section on games. Only story of note is “Wait Till Martin Comes” by Maria Leach. Includes poems by Jane Yolen, Joan Ciardi, Rose Fyleman and e.e. cummings.


Worlds in Small ed. John Robert Colombo (Cacanadadada Press 0-921870-14-0, Jun ’92, $12.95, 96pp, tp, cover by Alvin Jang); Anthology of 104 minimalist excerpts, stories, and poems (most under 100 words, many under 20) including many by sf writers including Bradbury, Clarke, and Heinlein.
