    The title is given as Pep “Tec” Tales on the cover, which is an edited version of that for the June 1935 issue of Spicy-Adventure Stories. This is a partial reprint of the June 1935 issue of Spicy-Adventure Stories, plus two stories from the April 1937 issue of Saucy Movie Tales.

    The Phantom Detective was Standard Magazine’s response to the launch of The Shadow Magazine by Street & Smith. Although it ran for far fewer issues (170 instead of 325) its less frequent schedule meant it held the record for the longest-running single-character pulp, lasting for over 20 years.
