The first five volumes of The British Girl’s Annual, from 1910 to 1914, were issued in the year given on their title page, so you’d give your child the 1914 annual for Christmas 1914. However, the sixth volume, available for Christmas 1915, has “1916” on the title page, so there is no “British Girl’s Annual 1915”. From the 1917 annual, the year was also printed on the spine, and possibly on the dust jacket. |
