Pearsons Magazine (US) [v 1 #1, March 1899] (Pearson Publishing Company; New York, 8¢, standard) This is in fact Vol. I No. 1 of the US Edition, but the publisher began by assigning volume numbers that attempt to continue the volume numbering of the British edition. That was changed around true Vol VII, and subsequent volumes are in the correct numerical sequence. Note also that many issues have N.S. Number 18 (e.g.) on their covers; we dont know if this is supposed to mean New Series or Newsstand Series or yet something else. Cover: design from a photograph by Lascelles. [MW]
