The Grand Magazine
The Grand Magazine UK; Feb. 1905-Apr. 1940 (423 issues); George Newnes, London; monthly; standard format, on pulp paper; editors H. Greenhough Smith, Reeves Shaw, H. W. Legett (acting editor in 1934); a rough-paper, mainly-fiction stablemate to the more up-market Strand Magazine; the first few volumes featured a fair amount of light non-fiction (but completely unillustrated); later issues are all-fiction, with illustrations added at some point; authors included C. N. & A. M. Williamson, Ernest Bramah, Frank H. Shaw, Bram Stoker, Bertram Atkey, Baroness Orczy, Edgar Wallace, E. Phillips Oppenheim, Rafael Sabatini, P. G. Wodehouse, A. E. W. Mason, Agatha Christie, Valentine Williams, etc; the first British pulp.
