Title:  AIR WONDER STORIES SEPTEMBER 1929 GERNSBACK
Description:  This listing is for the SEPTEMBER 1929 issue AIR WONDER STORIES. I would consider this issue to be between GOOD and VERY GOOD CONDITION. This issue is complete. The front and back covers are complete. The main problem with this issue is that some distant owner tried taping the cover back on and now that tape has yellowed. Other than the bad tape job, this issue is in "better than it looks" condition. This is one of the nicer covers of this short lived series. This cover retains much of its original lustre and bright color. I have a closeup of this cover to prove the point. I also have a closeup of the bad tape job as well. But once we get past the cover, the rest of this issue is pretty nice. I counted the pages; they are all there. The covers of these issues are pretty, but the contents are what the pulp collectors are after. And the stories in this issue are some of the best. The inner pages are still in pretty good condition. The pages have yellowed over the years. I have many photos of the inner artwork and all I can say is WOW! This is a very hard issue to find in any condition, mainly due to the stories and artwork. The stories are as follows: 1) The Yellow-Air-Peril 2) Where Gravity Ends 3) The Ark Of The Covenant ( A Truly Classic Story-Have You Read This One Yet? ) 4) Flight In 1999 5) The Air Terror. There is also a one page editorial by the infamous Hugo Gernsback titled "The Airplane Of The Future". I have a photo of the artwork that accompanies this editorial. There is also another one page editorial by Gernsback titled "Rocket Flying". Both of these insights into the mind of Hugo Gernsback are worth the cost of admission alone. Even though this issue has a rough cover, the inner contents are priceless. This issue will make a nice addition to your collection of early SCIENTIFICTION genre literature and artwork. I will ship this pulp to you by U.S. Priority Mail for $3.50 here in the states. I will pay to insure the pulp myself for its winning bid amount. Shipping out of the states will be more. With out of the U.S. shipping, you will pay for your own optional insurance. I prefer payment by PAYPAL, but I will also accept a money order. You can also pay by personal check, with the understanding that I will hold the check for 10 business days for check clearance. If you have any questions at all, you can email me at errol@usa.net. Auction Evaluations
Pulp Trader has a program which evaluates auction titles and descriptions, deciding what books and magazine issues are being offered. Listed below are its evaluations, shown as 1% to 99%. Naturally, this can never be as good as human judgement.

As a member, you can correct the stupid computer program. To change an existing evaluation, click on the Up or Down icon to its left. Up will raise the evaluation to 100% certainty. Down will lower it to 0%, meaning this auction is definitely not for that book.

To create a new evaluation, enter a Book ID# in the box above and press the Create button. You will then be shown the book data, and asked to verify the new evaluation. You must get the Book Key from a Book TOC page, or a Magazine Issue page.

After giving thumbs down to a few evaluations, or changing the item count, you can tell the program to re-evaluate by pressing the Re-Evaluate button. The program will re-evaluate the auction in a few minutes. All evaluations that are not 0 or 100 may change.

You can also set the exact number of Magazines and Books for auction. The Evaluation program sometimes gets this very wrong, especially when people mention their other auctions in the Description. When either field is blank, the Evaluation program uses its best guess as to how many items are for auction. You can set this to Zero, telling the program not to evaluate this auction. Or you can set it to some positive whole number to limit the number of evaluations.

At present, we do not evaluate auctions for books, so that field is not used. We will need it in the near future. The best way to use these fields is when an the program gives way too many evaluations. Just tell it how many items of each type are really for auction.
