True Story

Country: US

The first of the so-called "confessions" magazines, hugely successful and a trail-blazer in its own downmarket way. Stories were purportedly true and many are anecdotal experiences; but by the mid-1920s many more had become staff-written or were professional submissions. Most were by Macfadden's stable of writers, e.g. Fulton Oursler, Lyon Mearson.
