Born in Clinton, Missouri. Grew up in Oklahoma. City editor for the Tulsa Tribune, 1930-37. Published newspaper novel, City Desk, in 1937. Taught journalism in Tulsa. Afterwards, moved around the country and contributed articles to true-crime magazines. Died in Astoria, Oregon.
