Apex Science Fiction and Horror Digest

The magazine started as a print magazine and then went online in December 2008. In parallel with the print magazine, a number of stories were published on the magazine's website. When the print magazine ceased publication in 2008, more features were added to the online publication and some monthly compilations were issued in ebook form.

In late 2017 a special "Apex Magazine: SFFH" print issue was released to test the market and the magazine returned to a print format between January 2018 and December 2018, before reverting to online/ebook.
