Broadway Brevities

Broadway Brevities started as a gossip magazine which was forced to close in 1925 when the editor was convicted of running it as the basis of a blackmail racket. In 1930 it resurfaced as an uneven jumble of poems, movie publicity photographs, jokes, and thematic columns.

During its life the magazine used a variety of names, including Brevities, Broadway Brevities and Society Gossip and The New Broadway Brevities.

Broadway Brevities (Canada)

Initially subtitled "Humor with a Million Laughs!" the Canadian version of Broadway Brevities started as a humour magazine containing only cartoons and small jokes. During its life the magazine used a variety of names, including Brevities and Broadway Brevities & Smart Story Magazine, some of which featured fiction.
