Far West

Country: US
Total Issues: 24

Subtitled "America's Leading Western Fiction Monthly" (even when it was quarterly), Far West started as a digest western which had a rather cheap look to it, but then switched to a larger format in 1980. The covers are decent, but the interior art is poor, and the authors tend to be unknown (although Wayne Barton had stories between 1978 and 1981).

Stories from Far West won the Western Writers of America Spur Award every year from 1978 to 1981, probably because it was the only short western fiction magazine being published at the time.
