Amateur magazine.

Featuring George Chance, a stage magician turned hero, The Ghost, Super-Detective (as it was originally called) was a low-budget effort from the start, featuring only the lead novel and a couple of short stories. After three issues it had a single issue as simple The Ghost Detective, followed by another three as The Green Ghost Detective, before succumbing to the World War II paper shortage.

The character stories about the Ghost Detective continued in Thrilling Mystery.

A magazine devoted to horror fiction, non-fiction, art and poetry. It is edited by and published somewhere in Michigan. The magazine is a nicely done package of 64 pages. All of them are filled with fiction and three poems. Another Lulu hard copy publication.

Long thought to be an unnumbered volume of the Master Thriller series, now known to be a related one-shot. Undated, but clearly contemporaneous with Tales of Wonder #5, in which it is advertised.

Small press magazine devoted to the ghost story genre, mixing fiction and articles. Continued after 2001 as The Ghosts & Scholars M.R. James Newsletter which was meant to include only nonfiction "confined to M.R. James and his circle of ghost-story writing friends and associates", but gradually added more fiction until it became indistinguishable from the original. As a result the name changed back to Ghosts & Scholars in 2019.

The early issues were published in the format of Macfadden's "true story" magazines. To add versimilitude, the magazine was illustrated with double-exposure photographs and the stories often carried double bylines in the form "by X as told to Y," where X was the narrator of the story and Y was the actual author.
