Movie Detective capitalised on the popularity of the Hollywood screen magazines and mainly contained story adaptations of recent films. It only lasted for two issues, though sources differ on the dates of those issues.

Started as Movie Fun with a very small "Pictorial" as prefix, but in 1942 the emphasis was on Fun, initially with "Pictorial Movie" as prefix and subsequently just "Pictorial" as prefix.
