Although the original Strand Magazine was a general fiction magazine, it's reputation as the birthplace of Sherlock Holmes meant that "revivals" of the magazine tended to concentrate on mystery and detective fiction.

The first appeared in the UK in 1961 under the title The New Strand and ran for only 15 issues. The second appeared in the US in 1988 under the title The Strand Magazine and, at the time of writing, has managed 18 issues.
