Common Ground

Common Ground was a pioneer in exploring the racial polarization of American society. Such black authors as Langston Hughes and George S. Schuyler appeared regularly in its columns, as did such important liberal thinkers as Carey McWilliams, Arthur M. Schlesinger, Arnold M. Rose, Van Wyck Brooks, and Eleanor Roosevelt.
